Job Role: Retail Assistant

Location: The Hollies Farm Shop – Lower Stretton

Type of contract: Part-Time

Reports to: Farm Shop Manager

Retail assistants play a crucial role in ensuring excellent customer service and smoothstore operations, handling tasks from cleaning, sales support to inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist with their enquiries
Provide excellent customer service; comfortable in engaging with customers
Provide product information and recommendations
Operate the cash register and handle payments accurately and efficiently
Maintain clean, organised, and well-stocked shelves
Maintain a clean, presentable shop, including entrance, floors and till areas
Receive, unpack, and display merchandise
Assist with stock control and inventory checks, highlighting shortages
Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary
Follow store policies, procedures, and health & safety guidelines
Support promotions and sales initiatives

Skills and Qualifications

Good communication and interpersonal skills
Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude
Ability to work well in a team and independently
Basic math and cash-handling skills
Good time management and attention to detail
To be comfortable to approach Senior members if you have any concerns
Excellent teamwork skills; often work as part of a team, requiring collaboration with colleagues to meet store goals.

Flexible working hours, including weekends and bank holidays
Standing for extended periods
Fast-paced retail environment

Additional Duties

Must be flexible to work weekends and across various sites within Cheshire
Clocking in and out on time
Must adhere to the Company handbook standards
Maintain confidentiality at all times
