We’re looking for a friendly, proactive Retail Assistant to join our vibrant Gift Barn team, where every day is about creating a welcoming atmosphere and helping customers discover something special. From beautifully wrapped gifts to seasonal displays, you’ll play a key role in making our store a place people love to visit. The Retail Assistant is to provide excellent customer service, maintain store presentation, and support daily retail operations. Assist customers with product selection, payments/transactions, and ensure a positive shopping experience is upheld.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their enquiries
- Provide product information and recommendations
- Operate the cash register and handle payments accurately and efficiently
- Maintain clean, organised, and well-stocked shelves
- Maintain clean, presentable shop, inclusive of entrance and till areas
- Receive, unpack, and display merchandise
- Assist with stock control and inventory checks
- Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary
- Follow store policies, procedures, and health & safety guidelines
- Support promotions and sales initiatives

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work well in a team and independently
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Good time management and attention to detail
Working Conditions
